An exciting keynote speech by Dr Marie Gaarder, International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), on the "Balloon-Squeezing Approach" was followed by interesting presentations on success factors in impact measurement, methodological requirements and various evaluation methods.

Once again, it became clear what Prof Dr Wolfgang Meyer, Saarland University, said in his welcoming address: 'Our research has an impact!

Evaluation is essential: evaluation-based findings and recommendations can make an important contribution to the further development of projects, initiatives, programmes and much more.

Our mission is therefore not only to research impact, but also to have an impact ourselves!
