The biodiversity of the agricultural landscape is severely jeopardised by changes in farming practices, the ongoing loss of land and climate change. The Rhineland³ project aimed to improve the agricultural landscape habitat for numerous animal and plant species with new approaches to nature conservation measures. By combining nature conservation measures, an effect was to be achieved that goes beyond that of individual measures. In addition, exchange and communication between agriculture and the population was promoted. To achieve this, the cultural landscape was used as a place of learning for secondary school pupils. The six-year project started in October 2019 and was funded by the Federal Biological Diversity Programme and the state of NRW (MLV) and implemented by the Rhineland Cultural Landscape Foundation.
